Midland & Megan Moroney
Event Promotion Campaign
Task
I was given the task to create an interesting graphic & print package to promote Concrete Street’s Spring Break on the Coast annual event starring Midland & Megan Moroney. They wanted the design to have a light-hearted summery beach vibe with illustrations but also include photos of the artists themselves to promote sales for the event as well as to inform the public.
Process
With this project, I focused on designing for the consumers seen during spring break (young adults and teens) in order to generate the traction needed for this event. With that concept in mind, I started to research color palettes, artists, and beach iconography. Upon collecting these items I began to sketch out a concept for the main promotional items as well as some of the assets I was planning to utilize. Once I had the majority of the formatting completed I worked on incorporating the photos given by the artists and manipulating them to fit within the design I started. Once I had one of these graphics designed and approved I began to work on all other – print and digital to create a cohesive promotional campaign. I then presented the work I created and once it was approved I started print production for posters, vinyls, coroplasts, and flyers.
Conclusion
This project helped me get better experience with accompanying multiple artists’ needs at once within one design as well as how to best design for the target audience. I also got lots of practice with color palette design and illustration for the different graphic elements as well as logo design for the festival.
